I absolutely love Werner's. When we first moved to the area, my friend and I visited frequently, and the food was consistently excellent. The owners were incredibly friendly, and our visits became a regular part of our routine. However, it's been several years since we last stopped by. Today, we returned, and to our delight, the owner recognized us and greeted us with the same warmth we remembered. The food was just as delicious as ever. In the early 1970s, there were two delis on Jericho Turnpike: Johnny's and Werner's (with a notable mention of Ardito's, which is still in business and apparently still owned by the original Ardito family). I recently noticed that Werner's is still around, and it seems like Werner himself might be nearing 100 years old! Upon visiting, I found out that Werner's has changed hands and is no longer quite the same as it once was. I've come across reviews suggesting that the new owners have managed to honor Werner's legacy, and I must say, I agree with that sentiment. This is a fantastic local deli! Kim and Sue are very friendly to everyone who stops by. They prepare delicious sandwiches, and during the holiday season, if you place your order ahead of time, they offer freshly made pies—like apple, pumpkin, coconut custard, and more—that are simply delightful! My personal favorite is the coconut custard pie. The prices are quite reasonable, and the quality is better than many of the busy bakeries in the area.
The cook food is pretty good, I love pastrami Friday. The owners Sue and Kim is very friendly and accommodating with any orders. Almost forgot, the homemade pies for the holidays are great, preorder for pickup.

I used to visit this place almost every day when I was working in New Hyde Park. The meats are always fresh, and they make excellent sandwiches. I'm not in the area anymore, but I still drop by occasionally.
Been eating here nearly every day for 12 years. Sue and Kim and very kind, and make great food. Sandwich creations are all great with tons of unique choices. Chaminade Special is always a favorite.
I traveled 20 miles specifically to try their German potato salad, but it was just average—something felt like it was missing, probably the bacon. However, the pierogi and kielbasa were quite good.
