The Marietta location really needs to make some improvements, starting with the customer experience. We discovered this restaurant last week and picked up a menu. However, when we scanned the QR code on it, our order ended up being sent to the Griffin location. When we arrived at Windy Hill to pick up our food, they didn't have our order. I also noticed that the information on the site was incorrect. The manager was rude and unhelpful in resolving the issue. Because it was already late, we decided to place another order at the Windy Hill location. I then called Chownow to cancel the original order, but the manager at Griffin refused to issue a refund, which forced me to escalate my complaint...
Hate to call this a hole in the wall so I 'll say it is a Mom and Pop establishment. Nothing that I had was bad. EVERYTHING was soooo good. Had the Catfish (6 piece) family Mac n Cheese, Fried Okra and Onion Rings. Everything was seasoned perfectly and fresh. I 've talked it up to where this will have to be my lunch tomorrow again. Heads up, be patient because everything is cooked to order and fresh which is how it should be and was appreciated!
Forget about the rest. And try the best.. they have been around for years.. there is a reason for that.. I got the whiting sandwich and the trout sandwich ordered a side of onion rings and a side of slaw.. the shredded lettuce was iceberg cold and the tomatoes were fresh and crunchy I should have ordered a half and half but I would do that on the next go around.. yeah I mean..
The food was good. The wait wasn't long either. They've been there for years. I've never been disappointed with their food. The 86 score was a little scary though.

The service was pleasant. Since it was during lunch, I expected a bit of a wait. The fish was tasty, and the beans and rice were excellent.

I'll definitely stop by whenever I'm in the area. The staff were friendly, and the Shrimp Po' Boy was delicious!
The catfish was incredibly fresh and delicious, and I really enjoyed the sides, especially the okra.
