The fried chicken was incredibly flavorful and delicious. I ordered the combo, which came with a side of grilled catfish fillet and sautéed peppers. The mac and cheese had a unique twist, but I found it tasty and well-seasoned. I absolutely loved the potatoes and green beans—it was my first time trying that combination, and I think I’ll definitely include it in my meal planning for the week. The cornbread was also delightful. However, even though the food was good, I think my girlfriend’s enthusiasm set my expectations too high, and I ended up feeling a bit let down.
The food was amazing. Customer service fair. My server charged us for a kids meal when on Wednesdays kids eat free. Otherwise, I enjoyed my fried fish, mac n cheese, greens, yams and corn bread. The others in my party got the traditional meal which waschicken with waffles. The fish was fried to perfection; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Yum Yum, those wafflesare the best...buttery n soft,Ahhh!!! Each dish was cooked with love?? AND the ambience is superb brick walls and dim lightswith a cool breeze. Bring a jacket)
My colleague took me out for lunch, and I have to say, the Oak Park, Illinois location really surpassed my expectations. I've been to the south side Chicago location before, and it was just alright, but this one is outstanding. The atmosphere, service, and food are all top-notch. It felt like enjoying a meal at grandma's house. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend others to visit at their convenience.
The service was great, exquisite, and the jazz band was a winning touch. A nice place to rent out for a party or just bring someone special. You won't feel over dressed or under dressed- just right at home.

Great customer service, and excellent food. Reminds me of seeing southern women cooking for a special event. A taste of a seemingly long forgotten good ole days ..thanks Chicken and Waffles, you got this!
I drove 5 hours to get to this place. And it was worth it. The waiter was the best the food was great the place is nice and clean. Can't wait to go back
The food is still very very good. It wasn't too busy! I wish they served alcohol and I'd come more often... hint hint... wink.... wink
This is a lovely restaurant. The staff is friendly, and the waffles are absolutely delicious! Juan is amazing!
