I will never return to this restaurant. I was quite disappointed with the meal I had today. I ordered a small fried rice with roasted pork added, which set me back $13. I also got Pad Thai for $15, but that was without any protein. Adding chicken or tofu would cost an extra $2, while beef and shrimp would be an additional $3. The Pad Thai didn't taste authentic; it was overly dominated by soy sauce and contained red cabbage, something I've never encountered in Pad Thai before.
I love coming here when I get chance to be in Oak Park. The food is great, portion size is good, and the service and store cleanliness is top notch. Dietary restrictions: There are lots of gluten-free options (because a lot of Asian noodles are also made from rice). They take care to ask about allergies/dietary restrictions, but be sure to communicate with your server about your request so they can double check for you!
This Eastern restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience. The menu is packed with a variety of vegetables and meats. Their soup dishes are truly exceptional. The atmosphere is spacious and clean. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed a large bowl of shrimp soup, which was bursting with flavor. I highly recommend this place; it's also quite reasonably priced.
Really loved this place but there was some confusion with the 2 different restaurants under the same name and the manager was super rude my confusion. I didn't want him to make the food if the kitchen was closed and he was insulted by me telling him it was fine? I still love Penny's after all these years going there.... one of my favorite items is the TomYum soup... but a little disappointed that the mushrooms used in the soup seem to come from a can now instead of the fresh ones they used to use. Stir fry is excellent though!
Penny's has always been my favorite. Never disappointed when we go. Tried a new dish, Thai Ravioli, it was delicious. Won ton noodle soup another favorite as well as the Beef Pad se eu.
THE place to go eat when in Chicago! The service is great and so very fast. And the food, oh my goodness, the food. So, so Good!! Your taste buds will thank you! I ate way too much.

Absolutely the best Thai food in Oak Park! The fried rice was incredibly delicious, and their Thai tea was exceptionally refreshing.
