We've been fans of the Breadsmith for a while. Really how can you go wrong with anything freshly baked? Some of the breads that we have recently enjoyed are their english muffin bread and flatbread. The english muffin bread is like having an english muffin in the form of toast. We love to make flatbread pizzas with their flatbread. Their scones are excellent but the item we really enjoy is their pretzel. Reminds us of when we visited Philadelphia. The Breadsmith is one of the few bakeries in the Cities where you can purchase a fresh baked pretzel. Previously we've enjoyed their focaccia, hot dog and burger buns and even some sweet breads. Carb Fans!!! Bread Smith in St. Paul is such a gem. From freshly baked breads to sweet treats, I have yet to try something that wasn't amazing. The loaf of sour dough will run you $6.50 and you can get in sliced in the store. The loaf is big! The banana chocolate chip muffin was another highlight. Perfect mix of banana and chocolate. This location is very busy but they had 3 cashiers to work through the rush.
This is another bakery that sells good Breakfast treats and pound cake slices. They sell cookies too. I bought a pretzel ? and ate it in the movie theater as my mini lunch. My sister bought 1 cinnamon roll and 2 large Scones. Eat them along with hot coffee or hot tea. Slice them apart and add a little butter on both halves. Run in the microwave for 10 seconds to allow the butter to melt. So, good to enjoy.
There are a lot of different bread and baked good options to choose from, but they are all laid out in the open air which could explain why nothing tasted fresh. We got a soft Pretzel, Coconut Scone, and a Walnut Muffin. The Pretzel was okay but bland and a little stale. The Scone was mediocre. The addition of seating side would be nice. Would not recommend.

The chocolate Babka here is the best I've ever tasted—absolutely amazing! If this restaurant were closer to my home, I’d be in serious trouble, as I’d find myself enjoying fresh bread several times a week. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a distance, so I only visit for special treats and holidays. I highly recommend this place!
I purchase food and keep some treats hidden from the kids. The next morning, I wake them up by saying that the chocolate babka fairy visited and left two babkas downstairs. They jump out of bed and eagerly enjoy the delicious surprise.

Simply wow! Plenty of options to choose from. We tried Mediterranean Focaccia, Brownie bite and Mini Cranberry Scone. Everything was delicious ? specially focaccia and scone. Would definitely visit again.
